Tori is a 5th year PhD candidate in geomicrobiology at the University of Southern California, and a graduate student in residence at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. She researches how microbes interact with calcium carbonate minerals to create the textures that signal the presence of life in the ancient fossil record and participates regularly in science outreach efforts through the NHMLA. Tori is also a musician and 4 year member of the student symphony orchestra at USC.
