Tomoko Bell is an assistant professor of biology at Newman University in Kansas. After receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, she completed the NASA Planetary Science Summer School in 2021. Her current research focuses on investigating cave bacteria that thrive in high carbon dioxide environments. Dr. Bell’s work explores the potential for life on other planets, a subject she finds deeply fascinating. She is also passionate about science communication and is dedicated to sharing her excitement for discovery with others. Empowering people through the knowledge and joy of science remains her lifelong passion.
