Affiliate bio

I have never had proper astronomy/science outreach communications training, so the number one thing that I am looking forward to through my participation in the SciAct Affiliate Program at this AAS meeting is to learn useful new tricks and improve my science outreach communications skills.

I am an astrophysicist at Arizona State University's School of Earth and Space Exploration. As a member of the research team led by Evgenya Shkolnik, I am the Lead Data Scientist for the SPARCS (Star-Planet Activity Research CubeSat) mission and I conduct research on the intrinsic variability of various types of stars across the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram using time-resolved high-precision photometry with space-based observatories such as MOST (Microvariability and Oscillations of STars), BRITE (BRIght Target Explorer), and Kepler.
