Through the SciAct Affiliate Program, I hope to continue growing as a science communicator in my new field, connect with like-minded professionals, and help amplify the impact of NASA’s missions by making science more inspiring for all… I am particularly interested in identifying and collaborating with online and hybrid outreach opportunities that allow me to engage with both national networks and local communities.

Dr. Marziye Jafariyazani is a Data Scientist for NASA’s TESS mission, based at the SETI Institute and NASA Ames Research Center. With a Ph.D. in extragalactic astronomy and a strong foundation in public outreach, Marziye recently transitioned into the field of exoplanet science, where she now applies advanced machine learning and data analysis techniques to identify planets beyond our solar system. Passionate about reconnecting with public engagement, she seeks to inspire curiosity and data literacy through accessible, remote-friendly outreach efforts. As a remote scientist, she is particularly interested in leveraging online and hybrid platforms to broaden the impact of NASA missions and make science inclusive, inspiring, and relevant to communities everywhere.
