Katie Gansler has worked toward a life in space exploration. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in political science in 2014, she earned a second bachelor’s in astronomy from the University of Maryland (UMD) to gain the technical knowledge necessary for a career in science policy and communications. She is currently pursuing graduate work in planetary seismology at UMD. She founded and currently chairs the Space Sciences Outreach Cooperative at UMD, where she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for space and aviation sciences with students and visitors to local schools, museums, and festivals.
