José Luis is a Puerto Rican Ph.D. candidate diving into the frontiers of Astrobiology at Georgia Tech’s School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. In Dr. Christopher Carr’s Planetary eXploration Lab, he's part of an exciting project to develop a cutting-edge, single-molecule solid-state device designed to search for organic signatures of life, specifically amino acids and informational polymers. He intends to further integrate this device to study endogenous organics in extraterrestrial materials. Beyond research, you might find him crafting science communication content for the non-profit Ciencia En Tus Manos or binge-watching the latest science fiction series.
