The logistics and culture of academia can often limit the extent of implementation within local communities. Much of this stems from the inherent disconnect between a competitive research environment and how the public can reliably interface with the science done there.

Jordan is currently a 3rd year at the University of Maryland studying the star-planet connection. Her research interests lie in determining how low-mass stars and their planets evolve together, informed by observations and modeling. She is also huge into science education and learning how other people learn.
