Andrea Distel is a 4th year PhD candidate in the School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University. Her doctoral research focuses on measuring trace hydrogen and its isotopes in nominally anhydrous minerals in lunar rocks (meteorites and Apollo samples) using petrological and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) analysis. The ultimate objective of her work is to further constrain the petrogenesis of lunar basalts.
